The Daily Digest for Wednesday: FREE Just Egg for you and 3 friends, All NEW Weekly Grocery Deals Started Today, My Favorites List, Deal on Popsicle Makers & Cookbook, + Much More!

You can check out previous Daily Digests too, I keep a week’s worth of deals here.

I’ve changed the format of this a bit to make it easier for you to QUICKLY see the NEWEST Deals for the day (or Weekend Wrap-Ups.) I was struggling with how best to keep some of the previous deals around that were still good, without making it cumbersome to find that day’s New Deals. It seemed a shame to just delete some of the deals after a day that were still really good and long-term. But, I also want you to be able to quickly check on the newest ones, too! So, deals from the SAME day (or weekend wrap-up for 3-days) will be at the very top. Deals that you may want to reference later will follow.

In my Penny Pantry Facebook Group, I post many deals & info. throughout the day including freebies, deal updates & changes, Amazon Deals, meals & recipes, food discounts I run across + more! Some are more timely than others: the Amazon Warehouse Deals tend to come and go quickly, so Facebook is a good platform for me to let you know about those deals quickly.

Posts here on my website take longer to write and deliver, so I primarily use it for Weekly Grocery Deals, and other deals I think you may want to reference later. But, I’d like to bridge that gap as not everyone is on Facebook. Plus, it may be nice to have the Daily Deals together, as the Facebook feeds don’t run exclusively chronologically.

So, I’ll try this out and see how it goes! Please let me know if you think this will be useful as a companion to my Facebook posts. And, if you’re on Facebook and haven’t joined our group yet, I hope you will join and become part of our active, supportive vegan community! <3 Amy

The Daily Digest of Deals Monday, 6/07

The Penny Pantry is turning three years old this summer!

• Free $5 at Peet’s: This says you need to enter code Welcome, don’t think this was mentioned before.
• Reminder: Free Baskin Robbins Ice Cream when you download the app, plus one on your birthday! There are many vegan options now. Have you tried the new oatmilk ice cream?
• LAST Call! Check under “My List” in the Safeway app for Monopoly prizes you may still have to claim! I have a loaf of bread, nail clippers and a couple of other things left. Tomorrow is the last day of the extended deadline!
• Safeway Sneak Peek – Starts Wed. Strawberries will be Buy 1, Get 1 Free! This is advertised in my area in N. California, sales can be regional. Safeway Deals good thru Tuesday can be found here.
• Target pulled thru! The New Vegan Chopped Salads ARE included in BOTH the Buy 1 Get 1 25% off and the $5/$25 Good & Gather Circle Offer! There are two other varieties besides this one, too. You can Order Online for various modes of delivery, or pick-up in store. Be sure to save that $5 Circle offer if you are going for the $5/$25 deal. There are many new Good & Gather plant-based items to try, great time to do so with the savings:
• Views from my veggie garden this morning: It feels like we got a late start (I think I say this every year LOL). We do have a long growing season here in zone 9 in California, though. Tomatoes are starting to fruit, zucchini has sprouted. Apple tree has a lot of apples that I’ll make applesauce with to freeze and use for the upcoming year. Would love to see any pix of food you’re growing this year, too!
• Ginger $131 per lb. at Safeway vs. $6 per lb. at my local warehouse store! You can easily blow your grocery budget on spices, but there is a better way! You hear me talk about the virtues of a “Price Book”. I started mine in 1998 and soon became obsessed with recording prices and subsequently saving TONS of money! Here’s an example from one of my pages. Apply this strategy as much as you can, and your savings will really add up.

• Besides oatmeal and homemade muesli, one of my favorite frugal breakfasts (or even snack!) is “arroz con leche”: rice with milk. Traditionally, I think condensed milk is used and it’s cooked more like a pudding. I just heat up leftover brown rice with almond milk and raisins or dates, some sweetener, and add cinnamon. It’s super yummy, filling and frugal! The cost of the rice is just pennies if you know a few tricks I’ll put in comments.

• Deal of the Day on Home Office Desks, these are all table style. Quite a few designs and some good discounts if you are in need.
• Now live! Spend $10 in Small Business area of Amazon, get $10 to use for Prime Day. Groceries, handmade items, pet supplies and more are included. Prime membership is required.
• Anthony’s is included in the Buy $10 get $10 for small business promo! Get this nutritional yeast for cheap!
• Palouse Brand is included in the Buy $10 get $10 Small Business offer. Family-owned company, products are highly-rated. Good deal if you’ve wanted to try these. Clip an additional $2 coupon on some!
• Super Natural Vegan Sprinkles are included in the Small Business Spend $10, Get $10 for Prime Day! Most sprinkles aren’t vegan due to confectioners’ glaze.
