The Daily Digest for Tuesday: All NEW Weekly Grocery Store Posts, More Sprouts Freebies, Great Deal on an Oster Breadmaker+ Much More for Less!

You can check out previous Daily Digests too, I keep a week’s worth of deals here.

I’ve changed the format of this a bit to make it easier for you to QUICKLY see the NEWEST Deals for the day (or Weekend Wrap-Ups.) I was struggling with how best to keep some of the previous deals around that were still good, without making it cumbersome to find that day’s New Deals. It seemed a shame to just delete some of the deals after a day that were still really good and long-term. But, I also want you to be able to quickly check on the newest ones, too! So, deals from the SAME day (or weekend wrap-up for 3-days) will be at the very top. Deals that you may want to reference later will follow.

In my Penny Pantry Facebook Group, I post many deals & info. throughout the day including freebies, deal updates & changes, Amazon Deals, meals & recipes, food discounts I run across + more! Some are more timely than others: the Amazon Warehouse Deals tend to come and go quickly, so Facebook is a good platform for me to let you know about those deals quickly.

Posts here on my website take longer to write and deliver, so I primarily use it for Weekly Grocery Deals, and other deals I think you may want to reference later. But, I’d like to bridge that gap as not everyone is on Facebook. Plus, it may be nice to have the Daily Deals together, as the Facebook feeds don’t run exclusively chronologically.

So, I’ll try this out and see how it goes! Please let me know if you think this will be useful as a companion to my Facebook posts. And, if you’re on Facebook and haven’t joined our group yet, I hope you will join and become part of our active, supportive vegan community! <3 Amy

FREE Stuff

• Nice Freebie for Publix Shoppers: (these are alcohol-free) FREE 6 pack of Neon Zebra Daquiri Mixers, load to your store card.
• Member Share: Nice Moneymakers on various bars! He got the Good to Go Bar (certified vegan btw) at Natural Grocers, paid $2.25 and got $2.49 back with Ibotta rebate. There are also a TON of great freebie coupons/promos at that store right now, I’ll make a separate post for that. The Good Fats Bar he found on a “last chance” deal at Whole Foods, paid $1.57 and got back $2.69 with Ibotta. So, he got PAID $1.36 for these two bars, sweet! Thanks for sharing Jesse!

Online Groceries

• If you have Whole Foods Delivery in your area, you can order many of the Weekly Sales online for delivery. I’ve heard from our members that ordering at “off” times may ensure more selection. Delivery is FREE with $35 orders for Prime.

• I’m seeing the Organic Strawberries, 1 lb Weekly Sale online, too, although the ad said in-store only. This is a good price for organic strawberries.
• Alpha Foods currently has a home delivery online promo for their Chik’n 8 pack, 8 packs total of 2 products. I think they have some new writers for their website LOL. If these are not available in your area, you may like this deal.
• WOWZERS! If you have a Natural Grocers, mark your calendars for 8/12-14. They’re having an anniversary celebration with tons of freebies, even $2.39 Dandie’s Marshmallows! Thanks for the heads up

Recipes, Meals & Homemade Food

• Cooking from Scratch is one of the strategies I use to save the most money on my grocery expenses:

• Deals on extra-large bags of Blue Diamond Almonds. Beware the Salt & Vinegar one isn’t vegan! I’ve been making almond parm recently instead of my usual sunflower parm. I really like it!

• For the almond parmesan: I was going to type it out again, then remembered I have it included in my pasta recipe here: 

• What’s for Dinner? I made scrambled tofu and Lightlife sausage patties, dessert will be watermelon. Please feel free to share any of your vegan food. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

• I made tomatillo salsa with homemade oil-free chips. First time I’ve made it, was yummy! I would like to make some chik’n enchiladas with it this weekend…with homemade seitan, refried beans, Mexican rice, tofu sour cream. We’ll see how far I get! Please feel free to share any vegan food you’ve enjoyed recently, or food you want to enjoy soon!

• My review of Alpha Breakfast Sandwiches: (pictured in featured photo above) Trying this as I type! Verdict? Yum! 4/5 stars. The sausage is dominant, so really feels like a substantial sandwich. I like the sausage, great texture and flavor. I read their microwaving instructions and thought about how that would cook. I thought the muffin may get soggy, so I cooked it separately in my toaster. The filling I microwaved for about 30 seconds per side, but I did have to reheat as a chase ensued between Ursa and Ace down the hall. I added a bit of Best Foods vegan mayo, too. Daughter did the same plus lettuce. I hope you find these at your Costco and enjoy trying them!

• Daughter got her 1st new Halloween decor today, a cute vampire candle holder from Bath & Body Works. Halloween is her favorite holiday, she loves making costumes. If you celebrate one, what is your favorite holiday?

Blueberries are easy to freeze too, unlike prepping strawberries and cherries. Great price per lb. if you want to freeze some to have when prices go higher. I freeze them on a tray 1st, this prevents them from sticking together in a freezer bag or container.

I taste tested two bowls last night (!), and daughter had a bowl with sourdough. If you only make one thing this week, soup is a great option: frugal, inexpensive and filling.

• Made a batch of Chef AJ’s banana muffins, 1st time trying this recipe. They were yummy and sweet without any added refined sugar. These are the silicone muffin pans I used. This is the best deal I’m seeing right now for this set. I always put mine on top of a cookie sheet before baking to stabilize, as they’re kind of floppy.
