The Weekend Wrap-Up: Don’t Miss All the Freebies: Granola, Veggie Chips, Brave Robot Ice Cream+ More! Recipes, All NEW Target & Drugstore Deals, Amazon Finds + Much More for Less!

I’ve changed the format of this a bit to make it easier for you to QUICKLY see the NEWEST Deals for the day (or Weekend Wrap-Ups.) I was struggling with how best to keep some of the previous deals around that were still good, without making it cumbersome to find that day’s New Deals. It seemed a shame to just delete some of the deals after a day that were still really good and long-term. But, I also want you to be able to quickly check on the newest ones, too! So, deals from the SAME day (or weekend wrap-up for 3-days) will be at the very top. Deals that you may want to reference later will follow.

In my Penny Pantry Facebook Group, I post many deals & info. throughout the day including freebies, deal updates & changes, Amazon Deals, meals & recipes, food discounts I run across + more! Some are more timely than others: the Amazon Warehouse Deals tend to come and go quickly, so Facebook is a good platform for me to let you know about those deals quickly.

Posts here on my website take longer to write and deliver, so I primarily use it for Weekly Grocery Deals, and other deals I think you may want to reference later. But, I’d like to bridge that gap as not everyone is on Facebook. Plus, it may be nice to have the Daily Deals together, as the Facebook feeds don’t run exclusively chronologically.

So, I’ll try this out and see how it goes! Please let me know if you think this will be useful as a companion to my Facebook posts. And, if you’re on Facebook and haven’t joined our group yet, I hope you will join and become part of our active, supportive vegan community! <3 Amy

Recipes & Misc.

• Are pancakes on your menu this weekend? It can be so much cheaper making them from scratch and my recipe is as quick as a mix! Many of our members have been making these for a while. If you’re one of those, please leave a comment to entice new members to try!

• I made refried (unfried) beans in my Instant Pot, homemade beans are so yummy! Very frugal, too, I’ll share my post again on how I make beans for about $.12 per “can”. This recipe is at the end of the post.

• Enjoying a salad with FREE cucumbers my neighbor left out. Why does free always taste better?! Made up a batch of my favorite dressing to have with this, Miyoko’s Caesar Dressing. Feel free to share any of your vegan food, pix of your fur, scaly or feathered babies or just say hello! I hope everyone is having a nice weekend and enjoying lots of yummy, cheap vegan food!

• Homemade Muesli I enjoyed today for brunch, with the cherries and white nectarines on the Food Maxx deal. I have this several times a week: it’s yummy, filling, healthy, and with the Bob’s Red Mill Oats I buy in bulk, the oats cost just $.06 per half cup! You can add any fresh or dried fruit, nuts or seeds, etc, and I usually add cinnamon, ground flax and some maple syrup. I’ve brought this while traveling too, great to have when food options are limited.

Grocery Stores

• Safeway Flash Sale is now live in the app! These are special weekend coupons that go thru Monday. The theme is ice cream, Breyer’s just $2.38 and cones $1.38, also Luigi’s Italian Ice deal. We have additional savings to stack with these too, head over to my Weekly Safeway Post here and scroll down to “Refrigerated/Frozen.”
• Safeway (and likely affiliate stores): Stack the new Flash Sale coupon with the $1/2 coupon and score Breyer’s for just $1.88! You can load the Flash Sale and $1/2 coupon here.
• Safeway Early Preview: Starting Wed., Personal Watermelons just $1.87 ea.! I got these to make my fruit salad on 4th of July and they were super sweet.
• Food Maxx: We got the deal on peaches, nectarines and cherries today. Paid $9, minus one nectarine and a bowl of cherries. Details in my Weekly “Very Best” post.
• Winco Shoppers: One of our members found cherries for $.99/lb.! That’s a fantastic deal, the lowest price I’ve seen this season.. Thanks for sharing Beverly!

• What’s for Lunch? Last night I made a big batch of vegetable soup and hummus. This will be the soup we eat frequently throughout the week for lunch. Each bowl of soup costs about $.25. I’m able to do this by buying ingredients in bulk and at the lowest price with my Price Book. I have a couple of posts on those savings strategies:

• “Regular” prices at my local Safeway cost around 3-4x as much as I will spend for groceries. There is a better way! You can easily slash your grocery expenses by 50% and more. It may not seem like a lot per item, but it adds up to a lot! Here is a post a wrote a while back and just republished on my website.

• Has anyone tried the Forager Parmesan? Here’s a recipe for homemade crackers using it, looks yummy! You should get a pop-up for a $1 off Forager coupon too.
