The Penny Pantry Turns ONE Today – We’ve Come a Long Way, Baby!

It some ways it really is hard to believe that today marks one YEAR since I wrote my 1st Penny Pantry website post. Some of you who have been with me since the beginning may remember what it was! (I’ll let the rest of you know at the end of this post!) <3

When I 1st embarked on this project, I had no idea how to create a website. I still have a ways to go, but I’m thrilled with how far it’s come.

Many years ago, I wanted to start a website to share the money-saving systems that I have developed over the years. Yet, being that I had no experience in web development, I shelved the idea.

I revisited the idea when I finished homeschooling my daughter in high school (She graduated, (with honors 🙂 ) phew!) I thought, “Now what?!” I asked myself what I knew best, and the answer was, “Saving money on plant-based groceries.”

I was determined to get a website up and running. While recovering from thyroid surgery, I had some time on my hands to research the ins and outs of starting a website. The rest, as they say, is history!

I wish to express my gratitude to all of you for supporting The Penny Pantry over the past year. It has been a dream come true for me to share what I have learned over the past 20+ years about how to save the most money on groceries.

We often hear that a vegan diet is expensive, but it doesn’t have to be! You really can have more control over how to spend your hard-earned dollars at the grocery stores.

Without further ado, let’s get back to the deals! I look forward to many more years of growth here at The Penny Pantry as we all continue to learn, and become the savviest plant-based grocery consumers.

Oh, and that first post a year ago? FREE Avocados, Baby! It all started with a Sprouts post on how to get six avocados for free. I remember fumbling with making a link, and adding an image. But I KNEW how to get those free avocados, darn it!

We’ve come a long way, baby, let’s see how far we can go!
