We use nutritional yeast at our house, primarily for making vegan parmesan and cheese sauces. The lowest price in my area to purchase it is actually found at Whole Foods! It is $9.99/lb. in the bulk bin for the flakes. Lately, I noticed the price everywhere increased, and it was previously $6.99/lb. at Whole Foods. Still a bargain as I have seen it as high as $20/lb.
Do you buy nutritional yeast, and wonder if you are getting a good deal? If you start recording prices at the places you shop, you will be able to get it for the best price.
Warning: Prepare to be shocked at the difference in prices! I always calculate price per lb., as it’s more meaningful and easier to compare than ounces.
Another great place to buy Nutritional Yeast is on Amazon. I will buy it there when I have FREE money to use from Swagbucks or rewards from my Amazon credit card. It can be nearly as cheap as my lowest source of $9.99/lb. Note that the prices on Amazon do fluctuate, but there is usually at least one deal much better than the others.
