We use nutritional yeast at our house, primarily for making vegan parmesan and cheese sauces. The lowest price in my area to purchase it is actually found at Whole Foods! It is $9.99/lb. in the bulk bin for the flakes. Lately, I noticed the price everywhere increased, and it was previously $6.99/lb. at Whole Foods. Still a bargain as I have seen it as high as $20/lb.
Do you buy nutritional yeast, and wonder if you are getting a good deal? If you start recording prices at the places you shop, you will be able to get it for the best price.
Warning: Prepare to be shocked at the difference in prices!
Another great place to buy Nutritional Yeast is on Amazon. I will buy it there when I have FREE money to use from Swagbucks or from my Amazon credit card. It is nearly as cheap as my lowest source of $9.99/lb.
Update 12/31: The link for the free sample below no longer appears to be working, I will keep checking in case it comes back. This one has been around for years, so it may be that they are updating the offer. It may also be that they only give out a certain # per day. To be continued….
You can request a FREE Bragg’s Sample pack that includes nutritional yeast and sea kelp seasoning. I know a lot of people are curious about nutritional yeast who haven’t tried it yet, and this is a good (and FREE!) way to do so. It is also a good source of B12 which can be lacking in a vegan diet.
