Oh boy, oh boy! Safeway Monopoly is kicking off this year with some Early Bonuses! If you download the app before March 3rd, you will get FIVE FREE tickets and TEN FREE Tokens, and be entered to win a $25 Gift card. (4 winners per store).
Note: The free tickets will be loaded to your Safeway Just for U acct., and the tokens will be added to your game account.
I’ll be updating this post after the game kicks off, in the meantime here is some info. that may get you acquainted with the game:

Redeem Your Online Safeway Monopoly Game “Tokens” for FREE Food! (note this was for last year, but likely will be the same this year, I’ll update when game starts.)
If you have been playing the Safeway Monopoly Game and entering the codes online, you may have accumulated a nice cache of “tokens” by now.
Unless you have an instant winner ticket, there are two codes on each ticket to scan, or enter manually online. One of the codes enters and keeps track of your game board tickets, and the other is for online prizes (including tokens). I have been using the app. and it’s super easy to scan my tickets.

I highly recommend using the app if you are to playing this game. I started using it last year, and it is SO much easier! (Game Ends May 2nd or when all tickets have been distributed).
How to Use Tokens for Free Food:
If you go to the “Redeem Tokens” tab in the app or online and scroll down a ways, you will see the food you can get in exchange for your tokens.
The vegan food items include:
- Donut or Bagel 20 Tokens (many bagels are vegan)
- 8 oz. can Tomato Sauce, Signature Select 20 Tokens
- Gravy Mix, Signature Select 20 Tokens (don’t know if vegan options, please check)
- 16.9 oz. Bottle Refreshe Water 20 Tokens
- French Bread Loaf 40 Tokens
- Pasta 12-16 oz., Signature Select 40 Tokens
There are also non-food items available, and Grocery Gift Cards.

how do i pick-up the i purchased with tokens?
Hi Lynn! They are added to your Safeway app. For specific food items (like a bagel) you should be able to see them in your “rewards” area. For gift cards, you will grab a gift card and bring it to the register. Be sure to use your ph#/card linked to the Monopoly game. Other items like Fandango rewards are bit different. If you let me know the prize, I can help you further. š

How long do you have to spend your tokens
Hi Victoria! The deadline is 5/28 to redeem in store prizes, the Fandango ones are a bit longer, sometime in June.
Any idea where, in my account, I would find the 5 free game tickets for early registration? I’ve received the 10 tokens but can’t find those game pieces anywhere. Thanks for the help!

I donāt see any where in the just 4 u ap of the free items I have won. And yes I scanned the tickets. And it has been two days. My gas rewards are there. So I know my ap is working.

So in a nutshell, if it’s something other than a “store level” prize, you have to go thru the Monopoly app. Was your prize a store level or something else? “All High-level and Low-level prizes require the submission of a verification form along with the original winning coupon, per the instructions on the verification form”.
I just checked my app, and I see a $2 prize I won under “My List”. Have you checked there? (If it’s the store-level prize).

But nothing else since …. and itās been two days already and nothing in my app either. What would your suggestion be?
It seems like it should have shown up in your Safeway app by now. š Did you check the “My List” area in the app? Prizes I’ve won have been showing up there. If not there, I would contact Safeway Monopoly (I wouldn’t respond to the e-mail directly though, just for safety). Did it say what you won? If you’ve shopped since getting the e-mail, the prize would have come off automatically (like a $ amt.) HTH!
Do you know if there is a limit on how many free items you can redeem at a time? I’d like to take a trip and get specifically the free items I have won to make sure they all end up being free. Do you think that would be possible?
Hi Caitlyn! I think it should work, I haven’t seen anything listed otherwise. The only limitations I’ve seen are with the grocery gift cards, there was a $25 limit on the ones redeemed with tokens. Be sure to scan in all your prizes, that is something new this year. Let us know how it works out!

Hi Pearl! You need to download the Safeway Monopoly app, then scan the barcode at the bottom of each ticket. The app is called “Shop, Play Win! Monopoly”. HTH!
