Accessibility Statement

It is vitally important to me that my website is equally accessible to all users.

Some of the ways that I achieve this include, but are not limited to:

  • Regularly check that content is understood by screen readers
  • Clear, concise content
  • Good font color contrast
  • Ensure that links can be used by assistive devices
  • Any videos I share will include closed captioning (to date I have one video on my site, it includes cc)
  • Utilization of an ADA compliant tool that checks posts for various possible issues

Most of the images on my site are photographs I have taken by myself. For these, I have started adding alternate text (alt text) to current content. Recently, I read that this can be redundant with my type of content as they do not serve to describe anything beyond what is already stated in my written text. However, I have still decided to include alt text so my readers don’t miss anything.

Font color: I’ve recently started using a “contrast checker” and current content will have the recommended colors.

Some of my images are image links that are provided by 3rd-party advertisers and I do not have control over them nor am I allowed to alter them. Image links should be accessible, and alt text included if applicable. If you ever encounter an issue, please let me know so I can help to remedy this.

Please contact me if you have any access issues on my site, or ways that could improve your experience.

All my best, Amy
