Yesterday, I visited my local Safeway to take advantage of some of our Weekly Deals. These deals are good thru Tuesday. We have a really nice Safeway brand Buy 1, Get 1 FREE Bread Sale this week that includes lots of sandwich bread, English Muffins and even bagels! I also took advantage of our Monthly Silk Sales.
This was a fairly easy trip to manage, I didn’t use any paper coupons, just digital Safeway app coupons.
Note: This was in Walnut Creek, CA. Sales can be regional, please check your flyers in other areas.

Here’s the breakdown of my trip from yesterday:
- Signature Select Apple Juice FREE with my Just for U Rewards
- 2 Cans Signature Select Kidney Beans FREE with my Just for U Rewards
- 1 Large Avocado FREE with my Just for U Rewards
- 1 lb. O Organics Fresh Herb Salad $4.70 Price Offer I saved in app ($5 everyday price w/o coupon)
- 5 lb. Bag Fresh Carrots $3.99
- 32 oz. Bag California Style Frozen Veggies $2.99
- 2 packs Signature Select Bagels Buy 1, Get 1 FREE Sale=$3.99 total
- 2 packs Signature Select Whole Wheat English Muffins Buy 1, Get 1 FREE Sale=$2.29 total
- 2 Loaves Signature Select Sliced Bread, large loaves (one sourdough, one whole wheat) Buy 1, Get 1 FREE Sale=$3.49 total
- 3 Boxes Ritz Crackers, asst. flavors Safeway app coupon for $1.49 ea. price=$4.47
- 2 packs Top Ramen Soy Sauce flavor=$4.78 total
- 2 Silk Soy Milks, 64 oz. AND 2 Silk Yogurt Cups (FREE Yogurt for buying Silk Milk app coupon) This set of items came out to be only $5.15 total after saved offers. I saved a $3.39 ea. price offer in the Safeway app. and used two identical Safeway app coupons: Buy 2 Silk Milks, get 1 Silk or So Delicious Yogurt. I had also loaded digital Silk coupons to my store card here that may have applied Looks like more coupons applied than I expected
- 2 Silk Almond Milks, 64 oz. $2.99 Monthly Sale-$1/2 Safeway app coupon=$1.99 But, Only came out to be $.99 total for both
Looks like more app coupons applied than I expected - 3 packs Azumaya Firm Tofu @$2.24 ea. (25% off in-store sale) $6.72 total
- 1 pack Guerrero Flour Tortillas $2.50 Sale price
Grand Total: $46.06
I could have done even better, but I bought a few items family members wanted that were not my “lowest price”. These included: the tortillas were $1.50 more than I like to spend, the frozen veggies were a bit more, and $1/box for crackers is what I prefer. All in all, a good trip though, especially with my FREE items, the BOGO Bread Sales, and much less for the milks and yogurts than I expected.
