Only $30.57 for everything I bought today!
Do you have one of these stores in your area? Shopping here is like a treasure hunt every time I go! However, there are a few items I buy here regularly that are always stocked. You can score some great deals, but it’s also easy to buy too much as, “It’s only 99 cents!” The title is a bit of a misnomer now, as a few years ago, they started to stock items that cost more than 99 cents. Almost all of the grocery items ARE 99 cents or less. Soy, Almond and Cashew Milks are one notable exception at $2.69/gallon.
One thing I really like about this store is that they sell brand name closeouts. You can score some really good products for a fraction of what they are sold for elsewhere. This differs from the Dollar Tree, who manufactures the majority of their own products under their own label. (Check the fine print on the back of their products, most will say made in Chesapeake Bay for Dollar Tree).
They also have a good selection of produce, but that tends to be hit or miss. It’s best to buy it when they are 1st stocking it straight out of the shipping boxes.
So, how do you know if an item is a good deal? When should you stock up? I will be starting a series soon that will give you the tools you need to make that decision. With my system, you can essentially set your own prices at the grocery store! Stay tuned! For now, know that this is the way I shop every time I purchase groceries. All the deals I share with you are purchased with the goal of paying the lowest price for every item on your list. I have systematically recorded grocery prices for 20 years, and have learned when something is at its lowest price.
Everything I bought today was at the Concord, CA store. Happy Saving! 🙂
